Introduction

PlanGoGo ("we," "our," or "us") operates the PlanGoGo web application and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and profile information provided through your authentication provider. This information is used to create and manage your PlanGoGo account.

Trip Data

We store the trips, legs, locations, tags, notes, itineraries, and other content you create within PlanGoGo. This data is necessary to provide the Service and is accessible only to you and any collaborators you invite.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details. We only store Stripe customer and payment IDs to manage your purchases and subscription status.

Files and Attachments

If you upload photos, documents, or other files to your trips, we store those files securely to provide the Service. Files are accessible only to you and your trip collaborators.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not track your browsing activity outside of PlanGoGo
  • We do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers
  • We do not use your trip data for advertising purposes
  • We do not read your trip content for any purpose other than providing the Service

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the PlanGoGo service
  • Authenticate your account and manage sessions
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Enable collaborative features such as trip sharing and invitations
  • Provide AI-powered features such as Instagram content analysis and location suggestions
  • Send important service-related communications

AI Integrations (MCP)

PlanGoGo runs a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at mcp.plangogo.com that lets AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, and any other MCP-compatible client) act on your trip data on your behalf. You initiate this connection from your AI tool and authenticate with your PlanGoGo account. We do not push your data to any AI provider on our own.

What an AI client can read

Once connected, the AI client can read the following from trips you own or have been invited to:

  • Trip name, dates, currency, timezone
  • Legs (segments / destinations) with names, dates, colors, notes
  • Locations including names, addresses, coordinates, notes, websites, source links
  • Tags applied to locations
  • Day-by-day itinerary and scheduled items
  • Inter-leg travel records (carrier, booking reference, times, cost)

What an AI client can change

With your authorization, the AI client can also create, update, and delete trip data on your behalf. This includes destructive operations such as removing a location, deleting an inter-leg travel record, or unscheduling an itinerary item. The AI is performing these actions as you — they are indistinguishable from changes you make in the PlanGoGo app.

What an AI client cannot reach

  • Other users' trips
  • Your account, password, payment methods, or email address
  • The contents of file attachments uploaded to a trip
  • Any data outside the trips your account has access to

How to revoke access

Disconnect PlanGoGo from your AI tool's connector or MCP settings (e.g. claude.ai → Settings → Connectors). The client's refresh token becomes unusable as soon as the next refresh fails. Existing access tokens expire within one hour.

Other AI use inside the app

When you share an Instagram or TikTok link into PlanGoGo, we may use AI to analyze the content and suggest place names and tags. The shared URL and extracted metadata are processed to provide this feature.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Google Cloud Platform servers. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Clerk: For account authentication and user management
  • Stripe: For payment processing
  • Google Cloud Platform: For hosting and data storage
  • Google Maps Platform: For location search, maps, and place data

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and trip data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Export your trip data

Children's Privacy

PlanGoGo is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy
